Large ice cream cart

So i went a little overboard with this thing. I made it about twice as large as the first one. Thin cardboard used to make the box. I left a hole in the top this time to help build and have access to the inside during construction.

The wheels are made from plumbing caps from Depot. I used a 4" cap for the rear- 1 1/2" for the front. Covered the surface with masking tape and painted flat black.

I used Lazertran for the labels. Its a decal type paper that prints on any printer. You soak the paper in water and it becomes a slightly opaque sticker with a little adhesive on it. After the stickers dried- you apply Alcohol to the sticker and it seals it to the surface making the bgnd transparent.  You cant see it here- but if the decal was pasted to a darker box- you would see the outlines. Let it dry on both sides for about an hour.

While the decals are drying- i built the handle out of cardboard and a 1/4" threaded screw cut down to fit. I used actual machine screws and bolts to attach to the sides. The length of the handle is about 12".  Painted the handle silver.

I found some threaded U bolts at the Depot and attached the wheels to the bottom. There are 4 nuts on the inside of the box. The wheels are fixed- they don't rotate.

A few months ago i bought a collection of actual ice cream cart stickers on Ebay for a project. I shot them- reduced the scale in P-shop and printed them out on heavyweight matte paper. Cut them out with an x-acto. Attached to the sides with Super 77 adhesive.

I built a top for the cart using a thicker piece of cardboard and a piece of scrap wood as the handle. The top is removable. The inside is unfinished.

Added the front wheel and let all the glue/paint dry.

This ice cream cart is 10" long, 7.5' wide and 8' tall. Weighs about 5 lbs. It took about 6 hours to build this from start to finish.
